DETAILS
We anticipate the weather will be cold and recommend gear that keeps you comfortable both during the day as well as at night.
Firewood will be provided but feel free to bring some as well. We’d hate to run out!
Bring your own camping/sleeping gear, chair(s), water, etc. 1-2 gallons per-person, per day! For you, and for the kitchen!
Weapons: Safety will be important for all of us. Tim B. will be setting up a course for competition on SATURDAY MORNING.
Off-Roading: There is a lot to explore in the area we plan to make camp. Some areas can be accessed in a 4WD pickup but much of it will require a vehicle that is more capable off-road like a Jeep, UTV, ATV, or dirt bike.
Directions to Man Camp
9.6 miles South of Superior, AZ
GPS LOCATION: 33°09'40.7"N 111°03'34.0"W
IMPORTANT! Don’t just follow Google blindly!
Some mapping apps wrongly direct you to turn off Az-177 early onto Cliffside Rd. Instead, you need to go a little further to N. Battle Axe Rd and drive for approximately 2 miles down a wide gravel road (shown yellow). It is easy to drive. Turn right on the first road after the cattle pens. This road is more narrow and sandy but we were able to drive on it without using 4x4. The camp will be approximately 0.3 miles down that road on the right side. Cell service does not exist at the campsite itself but there are places on Battle Axe Rd where up Verizon/T-Mobile coverage is possible if communication is critical.
Make sure o download offline maps BEFORE you lose cell service outside of Superior. The saved data will bring you right to the location. We will also post sIgns along the way.
